Its your choice

I know it wasnt fully your fault but I was angry and frustrated.

Then you left without any notice.

We had a text war which ended pretty ugly.

You were not meant to be alone.

You chose to be alone.

Sometimes you made certain decisions for yourself which lead to your loneliness without your consciousness.

So when you feel lonely, stop and look back for a minute.

Its those whom you have left behind that are meant to be alone because they did not have a choice.

I am glad you came back.

I hope more people can realise that they are not alone…

Because no one is. No one should be.

Hi….

I havent updated for ages…. due to…. the increasing amount of… assignments.. and…. revisions… and socializations…. and some personal matter(good ones)… So…. yea.

Theres another party coming up this weekend, theme is going back to school/St. Trinians. Its going to be so fun! Whee! I already know what I am going to wear. Well, sort of.  I cant wait :)

Other than being busy, things have been going on really well.

OH YEA! I failed one assignment. :( So sad!9/20 :( :( :( :( :( :( I have never failed any assignment before! Especially research assignments! :( :( :( :( :( :( So sad. I cannot take it. :( :( :( :( :( The lecturer said I didnt answer the questions although I wrote well with good points. Then dont fail me mah :( :( :( :( :( But I thought I did pretty well! Its all about PCNs and TCNs and nothing about HCNs. Did I accidentally replaces some Ps and Tc with Hs ah? I didnt even check :( I promise my 9/20 assignment from now onwards I will proof read my assignments before handing in :( :( :( :( :( I never did :( :( :( :( :(

Okay. Enough of sad faces. So, besides all the shitty things, everything else has been good :P Went to the casino, placed some bets, did not win, did not lose, free thrill. Then… what else did I do ah? I remembered doing somethings for the first time but I forgot what they are! Hrmmmm………. Okay. I cant remember. I am so lousy.

Tell you one funny incident. Actually if you’re not in the situation, it wont be so funny =\ But I am going to tell anyway since I cant remember a single exciting thing I did for the past 10 days.

Jim, one of the guys who went to Rotto with us, was the RA on duty some Saturdays ago and I was chatting with him on msn.  When I found out that he was chatting from the RA office and that he was the RA on duty, I jokingly asked him if I could lock myself out :P It was cold and wet and windy so it would be annoying for him to walk from the RA office to my flat(about 2 min’s walk)

So anyway, half an hr later or so, I heard one of my housemates cursed pretty loudly and I went to ask why…. turned out that she locked herself out…. So I called Jim and told him she locked herself out….. I think it was about half an hr before Jim went off duty. So he came over, unlocked the door for my housemate, and chit chatted a little with Bhav and I and left.

Minutes later, I decided to take a shower! As I was walking to the bathroom, the housemate who got locked out jokingly said “Dont lock yourself out, okay!”, and I said “Nah! I did not!” and proceeded to try to open my door.

Horror.

I locked myself out! And I was in my towel! On such a cold and windy night!

So I was to embarrassed to call Jim again so Bhav did it for me and I could almost hear Jim screaming from the other end :P But he came anyway, poor thing >.< So yea. He had to come to my flat twice in the span of… 10 minutes? But I made him cookies and muffins on Sunday night while he was on duty to compensate :P

Okay. This is getting boring.

Oh oh! Last night I had the best Chinese food I have had since I got to Perth! Very satisfying. :D

3 pictures for you! From Bhav’s Diploma Grad :)

I am blogging from lab! *sigh* I feel like the lab is my second home now…

Actually… There is an Asian guy here who I suspect do live here! He is here everyday and he bring like 4 bags with him all the time. I have no idea whats in there but I think thats everything he has. I once saw an electrical kettle on his desk -_-He also brings 3-4 containers of food with him everyday(Theres a small pantry here with microwave and fridge)…

Talking about food, I am very hungry now…

Sigh. I dont know why but I feel like my workload is heavier than last semester although practically I have less assignments this sem. 5 weeks left before study break, then finals… why does time past to quickly?! I havent enjoyed myself thoroughly at the half of the year yet!

Someone brought pizza here and it smells so good… Hungry… :(

Anyway… I am now a starving student… I somehow overspent by A LOT and I have to compensate it now before my mum finds out…. how, I have no idea yet but I have to! I’ll start by eating out less… been eating out so often that I gained 3 kgs :( Desperately need to lose weight!!

Okay. Friend coming here to fetch me home to eat, will come back to the lab later… maybe resume blogging…

Hi, Just-tin!!

Yes, its you! The one who left a not very friendly comment on my MDG review! Herro! :D I realise that my reply to your comment was so long that I think it deserves a whole entry by itself!

Here goes :

justin : Ur comment is so long I think I’ll reply you point by point..

“I think u are just parot-ting whatever others are saying. 1st of all.. how do u know jay can cat walk well?? i mean, just in the mere 2-3 seconds of video clip u could tell?? i could see that cindy canot catwalk well and adeline is just average and as for the rest of the girls cant really compare who is better cat-walker coz the clips are just too short and shoots were here and there..”

My view : Its not just from Mifa that I concluded Jay could walk better than the rest of the girls(note:she is not perfect, just better than the girls). There was this fashion show from 1U as well. Plus I thought I stressed enough on how all the things I wrote was solely my own opinion, so I am not sure if you are trying to change my mind with your comment or what… of course you are free to voice out your point of view as well but from your sentence structure, it seems like an convince more than opinion…

I know Cindy cannot walk…so cant come other girls..

Thats why I said there arent enough runway lessons or proper place to practice..

“2nd(ly),this is how reality tv works when it involves the viewers. i mean, look at american idol, u also sms or call in right? so what’s the difference?? obviously whoever got more people to vote for or same number of people voting more would win. But the catch is, whoever wins this atleast they are the top 12 contestant, just like american idol..judges chose the top 12 contestants..so whoever wins are atleast from the top 12..and lets just assume that all these top 12 has equal potential if not minor differences when u train them properly.”

My view : American Idol does not request the contestants to stay together, does not include one while episode about contestants bitching about each other nor does it have space for the contestants to play tricks such as acting cute, kind, pity etc etc etc. In addition, there are real judges to provide comments and advice each week and posing/expressions/walking/personalities are pretty much subjective compared to singing. You know a person sings out of tune/pitch when you hear it whereas different people might have different personal likings to whatever factors thats affecting the votes.

“3rd(ly),i think ringo’s lingery photo is quite alrite, i mean, u could see the clevage and the lace on top of the bra, the panties as well… this is how most of the lingery shots are taken.. unlike hanis’s jay’s and other girls where everything is covered up.”

My view : You obviously havent seen enough lingerie advertisement… or maybe you are just speaking from a guy’s perspective…. Honestly, I havent seen any lingerie ad with the model squeezing her asset with her arms that way. I am sorry Ringo, nothing against you, just trying to justify my point. PLUS, I did not say that Ringo covered her lingerie up. I was just saying that it wasnt a good picture overall.

“4thly,It’s human nature to vote for someone that u like, that u know, that u think that she’’s good or more deserving.. u cant say the voting system is unfair..i mean, if ur sister were to be in the show, dun tell me u wont support her all the way??? *think think-my dear *
obviously this is an entertainment bussiness.. more votes in=more money to the production team= a sucessful production=more similar shows with better quality=more money.so if u ask me if the voting system is unfair?? i would say this is bussiness..”

My view : I have given my example in my original post and I am not going to stress it anymore because if I justify somemore, someone might get hurt. Like I said, its unfair because some bad pictures taken earlier in the competition got to stay and some better ones actually got eliminated which is why I am saying that its unfair. Yes, I would support my sister but I wont support my favourite blogger blindly.

“can u say american idol’s voting system is unfair?? no right?? u havent even thought about it previous even right?? why?? coz all their 12 contestants are equally good if not just minor difference… and for the malaysian dreamgirl, all the 12 contestants are just average girls..and it’d be the best of the average while in american idol it’ll be the best of the best who will win.”

My view : Oh yes I have thought about it all the time even before MDG started because I have been watching so many reality shows here that uses the voting system. American Idol, Australian Idol, So you think you can dance US and AUS etc etc. Like I have said before in my reply to your second point, its different(refer back to my reply).

“so my conclusion is: u are just following what others are saying! very dissapointed at ur review.”

My view : And to your conclusion, I am even more disappointed by your inability to acknowledge a few points that I have pointed out before anyone(at least I havent read of them yet) which are my point #1, #3(on bandwidth), #4 and #6. Truly, deeply, disappointed.

So yea, very disappointed indeed.

Woohoo! Lab time.

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Top 6 already!

Okay, I personally think that the show is weird. By the way, my fav girl is gone and I am not rooting for anyone here :)

Weird factors :

#1. This is a model search but never once did Sazzy comment on the girls’ poses on selling the clothes they are wearing. Some completely covered their outfit, especially during the lingerie shoot. So is this a beauty search or model search la since all she commented on was their faces and bodies? You can pose ever so beautifully but if no one is looking at the product, whats the use ah?

For example,

example1.jpg
All I see if a tank top lookalike that I can get for 5AUD here.

#2. It is really unfair to use the sms voting system. Like, SO unfair. Some viewers vote merely because they like certain girls or they because they know them, for example:-

a. “I’ve seen that girl before! I am going to vote for her!!”
b. “Oo! She is my aunt’s friend’s daughter! I think I will vote for her!”
c. “She is so pretty I am going to vote for her!”

For instance,

example2.jpg

I am sorry I have to criticize this picture. Picture of other girls are not perfect as well but I find this picture the most imperfect one… Fan of hers dont come and flame me, okay? This picture wont get my vote at all because :

a. Lighting/hair is pretty crap. Quarter of her face is gone due to the shadow. Other girls at least found the light and the faces are clearly visible.

b. I wont pay attention to the clothes cause first thing I concentrate on are the boobs.

c. What lingerie? Looks like it belongs in the men’s magazine. Not a plus unless they are looking for that kind of model.

d. Not her fault but it is too obvious that its photoshopped. Bad picture overall!

Models of pictures like this not only get to the next stage, but also in top 6! You get the drift. How are we sure about the votes anyway? They can eliminate anyone they want after all regardless what the results are.

#3. The production team has improved tremendously but they still are many insignificant information that I think are not interesting at all. For instance, I forgot which episode but Fiqa was telling about something while Hanis and Ringo was eating that the dining table(See! Its so insignificant that I cannot remember it, I just remember that is has no point). It was like a super casual talk that every girl make with their girlfriends which nobody gives a shyt about lo.

It is a waste of bandwidth for people like me who doesnt have unlimited broadband, okay.

#4. Why arent there runway lessons?! The girls certainly didnt get enough lessons on how to walk…. there isnt a proper place for them to practice as well…. so seriously…. is this show really about modelling?!

#5. They dont show anything about the girls discussing about their photoshoots. They dont show anything on the girls fighting face to face or anything similar. How are the viewers going to know about whats going on in the house la? Its going to affect the viewers decision on voting! Instead, they just show each girls badmouthing the others with no base. As a part of human nature, we tend to lean onto the side of the story that we listen to first(not everyone but some people do do that) which is why Cindy is the bitch of the house now because they show one whole episode one everyone bashing Cindy!

#6. They dont seem the direct the girls enough in the shoot(at least thats what I saw la). Nadia’s shoot at Savahn Too on the sofa really put me off. I am not even going to comment about it. Anyway, it seems like to me they dont tell the girls when they are posing unflatteringly.

#7. As for the judges, they shouldnt be called judges anymore. They should be called guidance cause they do nothing that is even close to any judging that can affect the results of any elimination(unless there is a twist in the show at the last episode and the judges get to choose the winner). Isnt is a waste of capital of the producers to employ these people as judges but they dont get to judge(decide who goes home)?

The girls(in alphabetically order) :

*The pictures I use for each of them are my favs*

adeline1.jpg

Adeline! In my opinion, she is a typical Chinese girl. Used to be very shy and always seems to be nervous and tensed up. But in recent episode, she has loosen up a little, which is good so we get to know her better. Actually, I like her poses the most because she shows the clothes that she’s modeling for! For example, the Savahn Too picture. She can walk pretty okay, all she has to do is loosen up and try to have fun so she wont look so stiff.

cindy.jpg

Cindy. I dont know why everyone pays so much attention to her accent whether is fake or not. The show is not searching for Malaysian Girlnextdoor nor Malaysian Typicalgirl. If you want to criticise, then at least criticise something thats relevant to the theme of the show la…. like the pose, the facial expression, the walk etc etc la! Really dont understand.

hanis.jpg

Hanis. She appears to be sweet and nice and all and I think she has the most potential. She can walk, she can post, she can sell the products. Thats almost a model! We have a winner! The only problem I have with her is her braces but it will go, so yes, I think she should win.

jay.jpg

Jay. It seems like she has the most experience among all but she doesnt quite show it. Some of her pictures are okay, but not good. She can walk though and thats pretty good enough for her to stay in top three. However, I think her face is too prominent for a model. Somehow, in my very own opinion, I think that a model should have a closer to plain face but still has something attractive about them. Jay is no doubt a good looking girl but I just think that her features are a little too prominent.

nadia.jpg

Same goes for Nadia. Prominent features. Anyway, I think she is a little too fierce and over confident with herself… Maybe she thinks too much about wining the car and neglected her personality, which plays an important part in attracting voters… Maybe thats why she has been in the bottom three for the past few episodes. Anyway, besides this picture of hers that I posted, I like non others because most of them look over expressed or something. She plays too much with her lips and eyes… I think she thinks too much. Relax and loosen that face up, show some energy, girl!

ringo.jpg

Ringo. I think Ringo is thinking too much as well. More like worrying too much. I would worry too if I were her. Anyway, there is no intensity in most of her recent pictures. They all look like blank faces to me. I am sorry but her height really is a problem in this show especially when the rest of the girls are taller than her. Maybe she feels intimidated that way. But anyway, her walk can be improved, her pictures needs some intensity. Posing wise she is fine, I think. She needs to speak up in the show though… comfort zone is good but its not going to bring her far.

Okay. Everything I said is just my own opinion. Dont flame me. Please. Kthxbai.

At the lab

I have been pretty hardworking this sem, mainly because I am trying to get an average of distinction for this whole year so I can apply to study for honours. It is very likely to not happen considering the amount of time I spent procrastinating, but I am still going to try.

I am currently at the lab with Bhav and M, trying to study. M is taking his second Masters course, btw. Trying to catch up the 4 lectures I missed for Industrial Relations :P On top of that, I have another assignment due on Monday. So I kinda have to search for journals as well. Bhav is sitting for an exam on Thurs and M, well, he is just hardworking generally.

I am pretty happy with my progress. Have been utilizing my student ID to borrow books from library very often. So its all good :D

Rottnest Island in words

Okay. I think my previous entry was too brief so I am going to tell about the 2 days trip now.

I slept at 2am and had to wake up at 6:50am to get ready. For the first time in my life, I was to wake Bhavna up! Amazing. She was always the one waking people up. And I woke Jim up as well. Then we departed KV by taxi at 7.30am and reached the jetty at about 8am. We got there, paid for our reserved tickets and bikes and proceeded to have a light breakfast.

group-pic.jpg

From left to right :

Bhavna(Mauritius), V(Zimbabwe), Rishi(India), Chris(Aus), M(not to be disclosed), Emelie(Sweden), Edison(Canada), Me(M’sia), Sonia(Mauritius), Jim(India).

How globalized! Anyway, we boarded the jetty at 8.45am. From the map, it looked like a 20 mins journey. However, it took us 2 hours to get there. I was kinda seasick by the time we got there -_-

The service was so good! I was so impressed by the Rottnest Express company. Thanks to Chris to planned everything, he booked bicycles for everyone of us and the bikes were right at the jetty waiting for us once we get of the ferry! How nice! We then went to have brunch. It was a sunny day with breeze which made it really nice to be outdoor. We checked into our chalet after brunch and settled our stuffs down before going out. We split into 3 groups. Sonia and Edison went to the general store to get something and Jim and Emelie went to get some liquor and before we all knew it, the rest of us started to cycle to the nearest beach and we lost contact with the other 2 groups because reception was really bad and although it looks like a tiny dot on the map, Rottnest Island is freaking big(when u have to cycle).

We cycled 7kms before paradise came to our eyes. It was Salmon Bay. It was so gorgeous we parked our bikes and almost jumped into the water immediately. There are 18 beaches on Rottnest Island itself but only about 7 are accessible. Besides Salmon Bay, Georgie Bay is another beauty. There was another beach we went on the second day which name I cannot recall. There is every necessity on the Island. You name it, it has got it!

As you can see from the pictures, we had a whale of a time there. We built sandcastles and took lots of pictures(but some are too exposing to be posted here hehe). Then I got tanned as well(I am so dark now :(). After what seemed like 3 hours, we cycles another 7kms back to our chalet. The cycling was hell because there were too many uphills!!!! I almost wanted to ditch the bike and just walk.

After we went back to our chalet, the other two groups came back respectively. We all took shower and prepared to go for dinner. We saw many Quokkas(An animal Rottnest Island is famous for) on the island! Its like a mini kangaroo. Very cute and tame. We had dinner at this restaurant thats facing the sea. It was gorgeous albeit a bit too windy. Dinner was lovely and the night went by in a blink. We cycled leisurely back to our chalet. Oh! Bhavna almost ran over a Quokka on the way back :P

I quickly changed into my pyjamas and jumped into my bed and was set to visit lalaland. But these good friends of mine just wouldnt let me sleep. M came to my bed and started to talk to me. Before I knew it, Bhav joined in. Then Chris dragged a sofa to my bed and joined in. Then Jim and Emelie joined us as well! My single bed was squeezed with 5 adults. They all drank and I think M and I were the only sober ones. Bhav was so drunk she passed out on my bed. So I had to take her sleeping bag and sleep in another room instead. It was a really fun night though. Had a lot of decent conversations and we bonded a lot.

The next day everyone was up by 9am as we had to check out by 10am. After checking out, we went for breakfast. We decided to take the tour bus this day instead of cycling as always everyone was experiencing pain at their crotch, including myself. Too much cycling =\

The bus ride was really nice as well! We then stopped by at the beach which name I forgot and spent an hour there. Then we caught up with the bus again and toured the rest of the island. It was really lovely :)

We then went to the jetty at 3pm to wait for the ferry which departed at 4am. Everyone was so tired almost all of us took a nap on the journey back. It was a very enjoyable trip and I think we’re going to Mandurah in 2 week’s time. Am looking forward to go :D
